Wilber Lee Loftin, 84, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015, at Vidant Inpatient Hospice.
He was born in Pitt County to Jasper and Stella Loftin. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bettie Lou Loftin; and a sister, Stella Loftin.
Mr. Loftin was a well-known carpenter in the Ayden community, working with Ayden Builders for nearly 30 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who enjoyed family and fishing. He also was a founding member of Liberty Free Will Baptist Church in Ayden.
Mr. Loftin is survived by three sons, Wilber Loftin Jr.
and wife, Sandra, of La Grange, and Clifton Glenn Loftin and wife, Wilene, and Melvin Loftin and wife, Paula, both of Ayden; one brother, Jasper Glenn Loftin and wife, Jenny, of Raleigh; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Farmer Funeral Service in Ayden. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Liberty Free Will Baptist Church, Ayden.
