A & O also provides the Safe Suite Initiative . This initiative provides temporary housing for men and women, 55 years or older, who are in need of a safe place to stay due to abuse or neglect and whose needs cannot be effectively met by existing abuse/crisis services. Abuse may be physical, emotional/psychological, sexual, financial or neglect. Furnished accommodations for up to 60 days. A & O is able to provide this service at no cost to older adults. Good Neighbours Active Living Centre has recently launched a new city-wide Home Maintenance Program funded by the Manitoba Seniors and Healthy

Aging Secretariat. Anyone who is over the age of 55, residing within the city of Winnipeg, and who is needing help with various tasks around the home can have access to this service (includes housekeeping and meal preperation). Manitoba Society of Seniors (MSOS). The MSOS represents Manitobans age 50 plus by promoting their needs and concerns and by presenting a positive image of older adults in the community. Seniors & Healthy Aging Secretariat, Government of Manitoba . The Seniors and Healthy Aging Secretariat acts as a central point of contact for seniors, their family members and organizations.
