Northern Districts

Buying a property in the northern areas of Athens. is generally a preferred alternative for families with children because there are many foreign schools such as St. Catherines School, the school Campion, ACS, ISA and the Franco-Hellenic school. The center of the northern districts is Kifissia. There are plenty of shopping malls and excellent restaurants that are considered among the best. The apartments in the north are generally more stylish. The areas in and around Kifissia are lined with trees and the neighborhood is very residential and many properties have a garden.

Neighborhoods as Ekali, Drossia or Dionysio are a bit further from the center but the houses are more luxurious, quiet and green. In addition, the business district of Maroussi houses the headquarters of many international companies and offers many great apartments and houses in the vicinity.

Both the center of Kifissia and Maroussi have a train station (treno) which serves the center of Athens and the port of Piraeus.

The districts of Agia Paraskevi and Vrilissia are closer to the Franco Hellenic School and the metro station "Doukissis Plakentias" and these neighborhoods are also residential.

The southern districts of Attica

Buying a property in the southern district of Athens. with its beautiful areas next to the sea, such as Glyfada and Voula, offers many advantages. Most of the properties here are of recent construction with a good standard. You can find villas with or without pool or very nice apartments with large terraces overlooking the sea.

Prices obviously vary depending on age, quality and where the street or the building is located.

Some of the southern areas that are closer to the center, such as Argyroupoli and Ano Glyfada are less expensive than the central areas of Glyfada, or Vouliagmeni.

A new tram line operates to and from the center of Athens, and serves the entire district. And as of 2010, a new metro line will open in the centre of Glyfada.

Glyfada has the only golf course Athens has to offer. Around Glyfada golf course one can find beautiful houses and apartments. The south of Athens is known for its many beaches, public or private, and you can swim from May to October! Also, there is a large mall with all kinds of restaurants and shops, a great abundance of discos and bars that mainly operate in summer.

Finally, the new ring road around Athens, built in 2004, makes access to the airport and north of Athens very easy and fast. In short, life in South Athens is very nice!
